Donate to support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Hurricane Harvey continues to bring devastating amounts of rain and flooding to the Gulf Coast, affecting millions of people. Google matched the first $1 million in donations, and together we have already raised $2 million. However, the crisis isn’t over. Although the match is completed, your contributions can still provide critical relief to those in need.

Where your donation goes

More Information
  • Why is Google doing this?

We want to make it easy for people to support American Red Cross relief efforts. We've already matched $1,000,000 to inspire greater giving. You can read about all of our efforts here.

  • Is there a limit to the number of times I can donate?

No, please feel free to come back and donate as many times as you like.

  • What is Network for Good? Why is my donation directed there?

Google partners with Network for Good, a U.S. 501(c)(3) and donor advised fund, to collect and distribute the funds to the nonprofit according to Google's recommendations (in this case, the American Red Cross). In accordance with U.S. tax law, Network for Good, as a donor advised fund, has exclusive legal control over the donations once received.

  • Is Google matching my donation?

We have already reached the $1 million match goal and are no longer matching donations, but your donation can still give much-needed help to people affected by the storm.

  • Will I be charged any fees or other levies?

Your entire contribution will go to the nonprofit, but if you reside outside the U.S., your bank or credit card issuer may charge you currency conversion / foreign currency transaction fees and taxes depending on the currency you donate in and your location -- please consult with your bank or credit card issuer for more information. You are also responsible for complying with any local foreign currency remittance and tax reporting obligations that may be applicable to you.

  • How do I delete my donation history?

Your donation history from Google's donation initiatives (One Today, Donation Cards on YouTube, and Google Crisis Response campaigns) is stored in a common donation account, associated with your Google account. If you made your donation using Guest Checkout, no donation history will be stored in your donation account. Likewise, if you have a Google Payments account, your donation will not appear in your Google Payments transaction history.

You can delete your donation account at the delete account page. Donations made with Donation Cards and for Google Crisis Response campaigns are already anonymous. Deleting your donation account will not affect your Google account or your Google Payments account.

  • Is my donation refundable?

    Donations are non-refundable.

  • Are there any legal limitations on my donation?

If you reside outside the U.S., there may be a legal limit on the aggregate amount you may donate, frequency, or the type of recipient. Please check your country’s laws before contributing to this campaign.

  • How will the money be used?

All donations will be disbursed to the following organization:

  • Is my donation tax-deductible?

If you are a resident of the U.S., donations to 501(c)(3) organizations are generally tax deductible, but please check with a tax professional to be sure. You will receive a confirmation email from Google, which serves as your donation receipt and confirms that no goods or services were received.

If you are a resident of the United Kingdom, tax benefits are not available for your donation.

If you are a resident of Canada, your donation may not be tax deductible. You should check your local tax regulations and review with a local tax professional to be sure.

You will receive a confirmation email from Google, which serves as your donation receipt. You will not receive anything of value for your donation.

If your country is not mentioned above, your donation is not tax deductible.

  • If I don’t have a Google Account, can I still donate?

Yes, you can use your credit card to make a donation using Google’s Guest Checkout.

If you choose to make your donation using Guest Checkout, you do not need to have a Google account or be logged into your Google account (if you have one). The confirmation email from Google, which serves as your donation receipt, will be sent to the email address you provide when you make a donation using Guest Checkout.

  • Can I use the Red Cross logo?
